After graduating from the Veterinary Faculty, University of Giessen in Germany in 2006, Franziska moved to Switzerland to write her doctoral thesis at the Section for Ophthalmology of the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich. She received her doctoral diploma (Dr. med. vet) in 2007 and subsequently completed a small animal rotating internship at the Vetsuisse Faculty in Zurich. In 2009 Franziska worked as an intern at the Section for Ophthalmology and started a residency program with Bernhard Spiess and Simon Pot in 2010. Franziska successfully completed the ACVO certifying examination in July 2013 and at present she is working in private practice in Switzerland.
