ISVO offers a travel scholarship

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Bausch and Lomb/Acrivet, ISVO is able to offer a travel scholarship to support an aspiring veterinarian to visit an international centre of ophthalmic excellence. The scholarship will provide funding for tuition, travel and subsistence costs up to $2500 USD per person. The one-month training is expected to be completed within 12 months of award of the scholarship. The awardee will also receive a complimentary one-year subscription to the journal Veterinary Ophthalmology, generously donated by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. The scholarship is open to veterinarians who are not currently enrolled in an official ophthalmology training program and who are a member of the ISVO (regular or associate/organisational).

Applications should include:

  1. A full curriculum vitae.
  2. A plan of the study to be undertaken, including a statement to justify the necessity for the application for funding.
  3. A letter from the ophthalmologist at the host institution supporting your application.

The selection of the successful applicant will be made by members of the ISVO Executive Committee and any decision will be final.
It is expected that within one month of completing the study the recipient will submit a one- or two-page report detailing what has been learned during the externship, and their future goals. Reports from previous scholars are available on the ISVO website:
