A meeting focusing on science, clinics and ocular immunology
Dear friends and colleagues,
We are looking forward to welcoming you all, on behalf of ECVO, to our 2013 Annual Scientific Meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
Our Scientific Committee has been hard at work to ensure that we will have yet another exciting and stimulating programme, including continuing education on Thursday, a state of the art lecture during our main programme and a Sunday morning masterclass session. This year the central theme of our scientific programme will be immunology. We have assembled an impressive roster of international speakers, with expertise in immunology, pathology and infectious diseases. Together, they will provide both a broad overview and a state of the art approach to the immunologic basis of many of the eye diseases that we commonly encounter in our daily practice: from dry eye and corneal disease, to uveitis and retinal disease. In recent years, our commercial exhibition and the number and quality of short communications and posters presented by our delegates have gone from strength to strength. We will be looking to you for YOUR contribution to the success of the scientific program and we hope that you will consider submitting an abstract, as well as making our speakers, sponsors and exhibitors welcome.
Our Planning Committee, together with our conference organizers (CSM), has selected a wonderful venue for our 2013 meeting. Barcelona is a beautiful and vibrant European city, with a rich cultural heritage. Here you will find world class modern art; stunning and unique architecture, including the iconic works of Gaudí; fabulous Catalan food; music and dancing, not to mention a beach not too far away and, of course, great company to share a glass or two of wine with!
We look forward to seeing you in Barcelona in May – to renewing old friendships, and forging new ones!

The Scientific Committee of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists is calling for abstracts (Original Research, Clinical, Resident, and Poster abstract sessions) to be presented at the 2013 meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
