I am a graduate of maximilian University veterinary school in Munich, Germany, class of 1992. While in the veterinary school I decided that my postgraduate training would be in ophthalmology. My mentors were below others Dr. Bernhard Spiess, Dr. Ekkehard Schäffer (pathologist) and Dr. Karl-Heinz Schönfelder (MD ophthalmologist). My doctoral thesis work concerned on asteroid hyalosis from a ophthalmopathological view. I got the german certificate for ophthalmology and become a panelist in 1995 and established a private practice limited to ophthalmology in Munich in the same year.
