Antonella graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Torino (Italy) in 2000. Following her graduation, she did a 1-year rotational Internship at the same Institution. In 2004, Antonella completed her PhD in Clinical Science on the topic “Diagnostic techniques for feline conjunctivitis: FHV-1, C. felis, PCR and cytology”. Antonella underwent a 3 years Residency Training Program in Veterinary Ophthalmology at the University of Zurich and Torino under the supervision of Bernhard Spiess, Marianne Richter and Claudio Peruccio. ECVO Diplomate since 2009, Antonella has worked 2 years as the Head of the Ophthalmology Service at the Vetsuisse Faculty in Bern. After that, she worked as Veterinary Ophthalmologist in a referral private practice (Istituto Veterinario di Novara, Italy) for 10 years. In those years equine ophthalmology was further provided in private equine practices. Since 2018, Antonella is working again at the University of Zürich as a Senior clinician, providing training to Student, post-graduates, Interns and Residents. Until now, Antonella has trained 5 Residents and many Ophthalmology Interns. Antonella enjoys her patients, the students and the residents as well as the possibility of being involved in clinical research.
